For several weeks, Susie Wolff, development driver for the Williams team, has not hidden her desire to get behind the wheel of the FW35 during the rookie days taking place at Silverstone from July 17 to 19.

« For me, the next logical step is to take part in the young driver tests, perform well, and then see what the next step will be after that, » she stated at the beginning of May.

This morning in the Nürburgring paddock, the information that the Scottish driver had been heard by her team and would indeed be on track in two weeks leaked out.

MotorsInside went to meet her to gather her impressions, and it turns out that while there is indeed a strong chance that she will be aligned, she will have to wait a few more days to be 100% certain: « It’s not confirmed yet. I haven’t been told that it’s 100% sure yet. I hope to have more information next week. I hope I get good news, I’ve prepared, I’m ready, and I really hope I’ll be driving, » the former DTM driver told us.

The main drivers having the opportunity to take to the track during one day of these tests, the other question will be whether Williams will take advantage of this opportunity and if Wolff will be behind the wheel for two or three days.

When asked during a press conference organized by Mercedes about what he would do between July 17 and 19, given that the German team will not be able to drive, Toto Wolff replied with a smile: « I’ll go watch my wife drive, maybe… »
