Sunday: Williams returns empty-handed from Singapore
While the Williams team was filled with hopes before the start regarding possible points to bring back from Singapore, the outcome was quite different upon arrival as the British team returns empty-handed from their weekend. Valtteri Bottas, although qualified for Q2, finished in 13th position after experiencing numerous incidents during the race. His teammate Pastor Maldonado missed out on points, finishing in 11th place.

Pastor Maldonado – 11th:
« We managed to gain two places at the start and after a few laps, we tried to push the car towards the drivers in front while trying to manage the rear tires. My tire management was quite good throughout the race and I was able to attack regularly. It was still quite difficult in the last laps on Supersoft tires.
In the end, we are simply missing that point, but we will aim to make further progress with a view to the next race.
Valtteri Bottas – 13th:
« It was one of the most difficult races of the entire season for me: immediately after the start, we had a problem with the clutch, which is why we lost a few positions. After the safety car passed, we experienced incidents, notably with debris in the front wing, which made the car difficult to maneuver. We couldn’t go any faster today. I can simply say that we did the best we could with what we had. »
