Sunday: Rosberg leads a Mercedes one-two in the Austrian GP
Nico Rosberg was able to take advantage of his Mercedes' good form to take the lead in the Austrian Grand Prix and win another race this year. Full result for the German team with Lewis Hamilton's 2nd place, another one-two for the star brand in 2014.

Nico Rosberg (No. 6) – Victory
The German driver had a very good Austrian Grand Prix and thanks the Mercedes AMG Petronas team after his victory at the Red Bull Ring: « This has been an incredible weekend for us here. It’s also nice to be back in Austria – for me, it was almost like a home race in Germany! It’s a great circuit, with amazing fans and ultimately a good result for us as well. I have to thank the team for my good car and a perfect strategy. »
The goal set before this Austrian weekend has been achieved for Rosberg: Before the weekend, my goal was to extend my lead in the championship, which I managed to do. So I can be confident for the team’s next home race at Silverstone.
Lewis Hamilton (#44) – 2nd
After a complicated Saturday, Hamilton wanted to take advantage of every opportunity and he succeeded well in the race to eventually finish 2nd, which he is thrilled about: After what happened in qualifying yesterday, today was mainly about damage limitation for me, so I’m happy to have finished 2nd. I had good pace all weekend but wasn’t able to capitalize, so finishing 2nd on a bad weekend is a good thing, I think. I had a fantastic start – it’s something we’ve been working hard on all year and it was one of my best. […] The strategy really worked well for me to secure this second position, then I tried to attack Nico – but he didn’t make any mistakes and I didn’t have an opportunity to overtake him.
The Briton is happy but intends to do even better at the next home Grand Prix: « The guys did a fantastic job to secure another one-two and the fans here in Austria were amazing. The next race is at Silverstone and with all the positive energy from my fans, it will be a special moment and I will give everything to secure the victory. »
