Ricciardo: Silverstone is an excellent place to know what the car is worth
Currently 3rd in the drivers' world championship, the Australian from Red Bull is coming off a poor performance like the rest of the team in Austria. However, Ricciardo believes that the car will show its worth at Silverstone.
The former Toro Rosso driver is excited about driving his Red Bull in England; according to him, it’s the best possible circuit to evaluate a Formula 1 car.
« Silverstone is fantastic. It’s simply a great circuit. It’s fast and flowing and you can get the maximum out of your car. There’s no better place than Silverstone to know the quality of a Formula 1 car »,” Ricciardo said in a statement delivered by his team.
The Australian driver explains his own preferences:
« In particular, the sequence of fast corners Maggots-Becketts-Chapel, turns 3 and 4 are key and offer a variety of lines. You can go flat out in the first corner and sacrifice the second, or do the opposite.».
The current 3rd in the world drivers’ championship is looking forward to the upcoming event:
« The more I drive, the more I appreciate the new section because it offers more overtaking opportunities and it’s not as simple as it seems. I’m looking forward to my first race with Red Bull this year at Silverstone. I know many of the guys are going to study the circuit, so I will try to achieve a good result ».
