Friday: Williams drivers affected by incidents at Silverstone
Felipe Massa experienced a complicated day after going off track. Susie Wolff also encountered an issue on her return behind the wheel of the FW36. Only Valtteri Bottas fared slightly better, but it's still far from perfect for the rest of the British Grand Prix F1 weekend.

Felipe Massa (No.19) – 17th and 11th
The Brazilian experienced a complicated morning after going off track: « This morning wasn’t the best because I put a wheel on the artificial grass and that was it, my session was over. As a result, I lost time during FP2 and we struggled with balance but we made progress. »
Massa made a point to thank the team for the work done: « I must thank the whole team because they worked hard to get the car ready for the second session. »
But the Paulist expects a busy day tomorrow, Saturday: « Tomorrow should be a better day, but we are behind on our schedule. We have a lot to do to find the right settings tomorrow, and the weather isn’t expected to help us. »
Susie Wolff (No. 41) – 21st [FP1]
The Scottish driver expressed her happiness at returning to the wheel of an F1 car at home or almost: « A big thank you to everyone for your support and help that allowed me to be ready for today. It was a nice feeling to get out of the garage. When I had my helmet on, it was just the car and me. I knew what I had to do and the car felt fantastic. »
Even though her session was cut short due to a problem, Susie Wolff prefers to focus on the positive aspects of her day: “I only did one and a half laps at full speed but it happens, I will have another session at Hockenheim for which I must now prepare. Every time I get in the car, there’s something to learn, so I have to take the positives from today.”
Valtteri Bottas (No. 77) – 6th [FP2]
The Finn seemed quite pleased with his testing on his side: « The Free Practice 2 sessions went well on our side: it was a rather good session. The main focus was working on the settings. We refined our settings and managed to improve them somewhat during the session. »
But he knows there is still a lot of work to do: « There is still much to do tomorrow, in such windy conditions, it’s not easy to set up the car. »
