Saturday: Disappointment for Kvyat and Vergne at Toro Rosso

Daniil Kvyat and Jean-Eric Vergne qualified in the top 10, but the two Toro Rosso drivers are still disappointed as they believe they could have done better. Nevertheless, they are optimistic for tomorrow's race where they hope to score big points.

Daniil Kvyat (n°26) – 6th and 9th

The Russian was hoping for a bit more as the Toro Rosso seemed competitive, but he remains satisfied starting from the top 10 on the grid: « We were fighting for very good positions today, but in the end, we made the decision not to go back out. At the time, it seemed like the right decision because it was hard to imagine anyone improving their time since it was raining heavily and the track conditions were difficult. But in the end, that’s how it happened, and 9th and 10th are good starting positions. »

Jean-Eric Vergne (No. 25) – 11th and 10th

Same observation from his French teammate, who believes there was more to be done during these Silverstone qualifications: « It was a good qualifying session today, at least until the last moments where we made a mistake by deciding not to go out for a final stint and improve our positions. I don’t know why, but it’s a fact, everyone who went out improved. It’s a shame because we had a good car to fight for a better position and it’s also disappointing because we have been faster all weekend than some cars that will start ahead of us. »
