Sunday: Both Marussias finish at Silverstone

Despite an eventful British Grand Prix in F1, notably for Max Chilton, the Briton was able to reach the finish, just like Jules Bianchi who was well positioned for a while but couldn't compete against the Lotus and Sauber.

Jules Bianchi (No. 17) – 14th

The Frenchman is satisfied with his race even if he finishes in a rather usual position despite a promising qualification: From 10th place at the new start, I had a very good first stint after the start. I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep the faster cars behind me, but it was a good test for our pace to see how long I could keep them behind me, and that was a fun part of the race for me.

Max Chilton (No. 4) – 16th

The Briton didn’t have much more luck than his teammate, notably receiving a penalty for returning to the pits when the race management had issued a red flag. He is nonetheless happy to have come out well after Räikkönen’s accident: « After yesterday’s qualifying performance, we were hoping we could have a good race today and clearly hadn’t anticipated the events we encountered. It was a frightening moment when I was hit by a flying wheel; I was very lucky in one way but very unfortunate given the damage to my car. I went back to the pits for a new wing and for the team to check the car, but by that time the race had been suspended with the red flag. The team did a good job repairing the car in the pit lane, and from there, it was a tough race where I pushed as much as possible. »
