German F1 Grand Prix: Check the TV schedule!

For several years, the Hockenheim circuit has alternated with the Nürburgring in hosting the German Grand Prix. However, this edition could be one of the last on this track, as Bernie Ecclestone recently announced that the German race would henceforth be held exclusively on the Ring.

Undefeated during the last two Formula 1 races at Hockenheim, Fernando Alonso will be eager to shine at the wheel of a disappointing Ferrari. Meanwhile, Felipe Massa, in the seat of a revitalized Williams, will want to avenge the affront of 2010 and the infamous: « Fernando is faster than you. » Nico Rosberg, with a helmet in the colors of his country to celebrate the German football team’s World Cup victory, will try to extend his lead in the championship.

The event is broadcast in France, Belgium, and Switzerland, among others. However, not everyone has the same access. While Canal+ provides optimal coverage, you have to pay to follow the Grand Prix on the group’s channels. Conversely, the races and qualifications are broadcast free-to-air on RTS and RTBF, but the coverage does not include the broadcast of free practice sessions.

Note that Canal+ will offer a new episode of On Board on Canal+ Sport, as it does every Wednesday after the race, featuring a summary of the Grand Prix without commentary, composed solely of onboard cameras and a selection of radio communications.

You will also be able to follow the British Grand Prix – which will take place at the Silverstone circuit – if you don’t have a television, don’t want to subscribe to Canal+ or are on the move – by listening to it on the radio. The frequencies naturally depend on your place of residence and several radio stations will comment on the Grand Prix live. The times are therefore identical to those presented in the Live. RMC will notably broadcast the qualifications and the race live thanks to the presence of Jean-Luc Roy, Antoine Arlot, and Patrick Tambay.
