Luca Marmorini leaves Ferrari, Pat Fry on the hot seat?
After Stefano Domenicali, another executive from Scuderia Ferrari has been pushed out following the complicated start to the season for the Reds. This concerns Luca Marmorini, who was notably responsible for engines at Ferrari. Other changes might occur in the coming weeks, with Pat Fry's future seeming threatened.

Luca Marmorini, head of engine and electronics at Ferrari, has been ousted by the Italian team. The Maranello team announced it in a statement.
Ferrari announces that Luca Marmorini, head of the engine and electronics department, is leaving the company. As part of the restructuring of the power units department, Mattia Binotto will assume the role of chief officer in charge of operations, the statement explains.
Marmorini had been one of the architects of the V6 power unit used by Ferrari and its clients this year. This departure follows Ferrari’s mediocre start to the season and the lack of competitiveness of the engine, especially against Mercedes. It is the second departure of an important member of Ferrari after the one of Stefano Domenicali in April.
If James Allison, poached from Lotus, has been confirmed by Ferrari in his role as technical director in charge of designing the Red cars, Marmorini’s departure might not be the last. Indeed, according to some observers, Pat Fry could also bear the brunt of Ferrari’s average start to the season and the mistake made during qualifying in Hungary, when Kimi Räikkönen, wanting to go back on track in Q1, was informed by his team that it was not necessary; he was eventually eliminated by Jules Bianchi (Marussia).
Thursday evening, Scuderia Ferrari organized a team dinner at the Fiorano circuit near the Maranello factory following the final meetings before the mandatory factory shutdown for several weeks, as defined in the regulations. This was an opportunity for Luca di Montezemolo, Ferrari’s chairman, and Marco Mattiacci, director of Scuderia Ferrari, to inform all team members about the upcoming measures to bring the Prancing Horse brand back to the forefront in F1.
« Montezemolo and Mattiacci wished to meet the technicians, engineers, drivers, and all other team members to reinforce the message regarding the cornerstones on which the resurgence of the Scuderia must be based. These are greater efficiency and speed in reacting and making decisions, a bolder approach in risk-taking, the necessity for everyone to take responsibility for their actions, and greater information sharing between different production departments, » explains the statement published on the Scuderia Ferrari website.
