Bianchi will wait to go to Ferrari and Chilton wants to stay in F1 in 2015

Jules Bianchi, Marussia driver, is having an excellent season, having scored two points at the Monaco GP. After the British Grand Prix, Jules Bianchi had the opportunity to replace Kimi Räikkönen during private tests – the Finn having been injured during the first lap at Silverstone.

In Hungary, Jules Bianchi managed to eject the Finnish Ferrari during the first part of the qualifying session. Despite the Frenchman’s performance, Marco Mattiacci has supported the former Lotus driver by confirming him for next year. Fernando Alonso’s teammate is under contract until the 2015 season.

Jules Bianchi’s career is managed by Nicolas Todt and it is almost certain that the Frenchman will become a Ferrari driver in the coming years. The Nice native is expected to complete his 3rd Formula 1 season in 2015 after scoring his very first career points and Marussia’s first in F1.

« Our goal is to stay ahead of Caterham and finish 10th, which would be a huge boost for the team. The goal remains to drive for Ferrari in the Grand Prix. If they call me one day, I’ll be ready to take the step. 2015? 2016? We’ll see, » said Jules Bianchi as quoted by the French sports daily L’Equipe.

Max Chilton, Bianchi’s teammate, is reportedly facing financial difficulties to remain a pay driver. However, he is confident he will stay a Formula 1 driver if Marussia finishes in 9th place in the Constructors’ Championship.

« We haven’t really looked into the matter yet. We want to stay with the team. I think it’s a team with a future, especially if we manage to distance ourselves from Sauber, » stated Chilton to Crash.net.

The English driver also comments on his future: « This will build my career because it’s a great help that I’m bringing to the team if we can do it. The team will help us develop the car for the following year. Moreover, there are a lot of rumors because there are people moving around you, and you don’t know how you should behave. I’m not really focusing on all that, I’ll look into it a bit later in the year. »

When asked if he needed to score points to stay, he added: « Not necessarily because everyone knows we need a bit of luck in races to score [points]. Of course, we need to score points, but I’ve had good races this year. I started very strong. In Hungary, we had problems, we are not able to perform greatly. Despite these problems, I had some good results, like in Bahrain where I finished 13th. »

Regarding the financial contribution he must bring, he stated: « Not necessarily. I think if the team gets 9th place then it’s not really worth worrying about. I haven’t really studied the issue, but if I’ve helped the team develop over the past two years then they can help. »
