Hamilton: « Rosberg admitted to deliberately hitting me »
New twist regarding the Hamilton-Rosberg clash! Lewis Hamilton told English journalists that Nico Rosberg had admitted to deliberately hitting him, causing his puncture.

It was our British colleagues who released the information after a press briefing reserved for them with Lewis Hamilton. The latter allegedly told them that Nico Rosberg deliberately hit him. He admitted that he could have avoided the accident. Basically, he said: “I did it to prove something,” the Mercedes driver revealed, stunned.
The Briton added that Rosberg was still upset about the incident that took place between the two drivers at the end of the Hungarian Grand Prix when Hamilton forcefully blocked him in the final lap.
« You don’t have to rely solely on me, go ask Toto [Wolff] and Paddy [Lowe] who are also not happy with him, » he added. Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda were indeed very upset with Nico Rosberg after the race.
He then elaborated on the circumstances of the incident for Autosport: « You know, and you can ask Fernando [Alonso] and you can ask all the drivers, when a car isn’t even halfway alongside you and you’re on the inside, it’s your racing line. It’s not your job to go massively off your path to give a lot, a lot of space. And it wasn’t one of those corners where there’s a wall or anything. »
It notably relies on Sebastian Vettel’s attempted overtake in the first lap: « Look at Sebastian. He was further [in his overtaking maneuver] and he knew he wasn’t going to make it to the end. He was aware of it. »
For him, fate is not to blame in the clash with his teammate: « We were good at driving wheel to wheel, very close. I think I heard someone say it was inevitable, that we were going to crash someday, but I don’t feel what happened today was inevitable. »
