Another new chassis for Vettel in Singapore
Sebastian Vettel will debut his fourth chassis of the year in Singapore, for the 14th round of the 2014 Formula 1 season, in the hope of finally being able to compete with his teammate, Daniel Ricciardo.

Sebastian Vettel will use his fourth chassis of the year in the upcoming race on the streets of Singapore. Struggling since the beginning of the year against his teammate Daniel Ricciardo and rivals like the Mercedes and Williams drivers, the four-time world champion hopes to bounce back.
The Red Bull team had announced that the first chassis used was causing tire wear issues, and Vettel therefore benefited from a new chassis starting with the Spanish Grand Prix in May. The German used a new chassis in the last race at Monza to gain confidence in facing a performance gap with Ricciardo, following the Australian’s two victories in Hungary and Belgium.
But the chassis wasn’t actually new, and while Vettel seemed rather satisfied, he will have a new chassis in Singapore as Helmut Marko explained to Sport Bild: « The Monza chassis was actually an old chassis that had been used during the Silverstone tests. It was [the change] more for psychological reasons. Now he is going to have a truly new chassis. »
