Friday: Maldonado sends a Lotus in progress into the wall
Twice repeated does not please: Pastor Maldonado has once again sent his E22 into the wall in Singapore. However, this incident should not overshadow the relatively good performance of the Lotus on a circuit that suits it better.

Romain Grosjean (No. 8) – 18th and 12th
A 12th fastest time in FP2, that’s something to cheer up Romain Grosjean. The Lotus is visibly more comfortable on twistier tracks: « The car performed well today. We did better than in previous races: we expected it, but it’s still satisfying when everything goes as planned. With more downforce on the wings, the car works much better. »
Pastor Maldonado (No. 13) – 14th and 14th
The Venezuelan once again hit the wall during free practice. A chassis of the E22 will need to be rebuilt. Maldonado acknowledges that it was a driving error: « The balance was quite tight when the tires were a bit too worn, and I lost the car in the middle of the corner. The exit was then quite close, but there was nowhere to go, so that was the end of my run. It was a mistake, the car was too unstable and I lost it in the corner ».
However, Pastor Maldonado can congratulate himself on the relatively good performance of his car: « We have made a good step in terms of pace, and we are closer to the top 10 times. We hope to be a bit more competitive in the race. »
