Saturday: Kvyat in the top 10 in Singapore, Vergne fails in Q2 for Toro Rosso
The qualifying session for the Singapore Grand Prix F1 promised to be promising for Toro Rosso, but the team was not able to place its two cars in the top 10.

Daniil Kvyat (No. 26) – 14th and 10th
The young Russian once again slipped into Q3, thanks to optimal use of his Toro Rosso: « I think we got the most out of the car today […] Q3 was a bit disjointed and throughout the session, the car was difficult to drive. But luckily, we managed to piece everything together and put in a good lap in Q2. 10th place was the best possible result. »
Jean-Eric Vergne (No. 25) – 4th and 12th
The Frenchman, who seemed comfortable all morning and could have hoped for better, never managed to make his front tires work, which held him back in Q2: « I had some problems with the front of the car today. I just couldn’t make it work and bring [the tires] to the right temperature, which caused me to lock the wheels. Then I made a mistake and lost more than three-tenths. Q3 wasn’t far off but it’s really a shame. »
