Brabham dreams of a return to Formula 1, 22 years after their last appearance on the starting grid. The possible comeback of this legendary team would be orchestrated by David Brabham, son of Sir Jack Brabham, the triple world champion who passed away a few months ago. The Brabham project will be based on crowdfunding, meaning the financial participation of fans. The goal would be to ultimately build a sustainable and financially healthy team.

« We have experienced a long and exhausting battle to protect and bring the Brabham name under family control, and now we must decide on the next step for the return of this iconic brand. I have long dreamed of seeing the Brabham team back on the track, winning at the highest level and continuing the legacy of my father when he created this team 60 years ago, » explained the former Formula 1 driver and now Endurance driver to Sky Sports.

« Looking at the current racing model, it’s neither exciting nor sustainable enough for me to rebuild the team from scratch. For me, for Brabham to return, we must do things differently. After careful consideration and research, we have created a new racing model « open source », which will ensure that fans are as close to the action as possible, inspire drivers and engineers from around the world, and offer the rare opportunity to be part of this new yet historic racing team. »

« We will open the door to people and share the incredible adventure that awaits us. I am a strong believer in the power of collective thinking and I see many benefits in this model, which will help Brabham become a winning team once again, but in a new and inspiring way. Who knows where this could lead us? A return to Formula 1, I hope » he continues.

Before this potential return to F1, which will be a long-term goal, Brabham aims to participate in the World Endurance Championship next season. The team intends to progress for three years in the LMP2 category and then move to LMP1 in the fourth year to try and win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. An entry into Formula E is not out of the question.
