Toro Rosso confirms Max Verstappen at Suzuka
The future Toro Rosso driver in 2015, Max Verstappen, will drive this Friday at Suzuka during the first practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix in F1.

The Italian team Toro Rosso has confirmed that Max Verstappen will make his debut at the Japanese Grand Prix on the Suzuka track. The young Dutchman will replace Jean-Éric Vergne in the first free practice session; originally, the young 16-year-old driver – who will turn 17 this Tuesday – was scheduled to drive in the free practice in Austin at the end of October, but he managed to obtain his Super License.
The future teammate of Daniil Kvyat is enthusiastic about the idea of driving: « I am very eager to take part in a free practice session of a Grand Prix for the first time. It’s a good preparation for next year, even though it’s something I couldn’t have imagined a few months ago. Being able to drive during a free practice session is a dream that is going to come true. »
The current driver engaged in the European Formula 3 Championship explains his expectations and preparation: « For me, it will be a very enriching experience, spending a certain amount of time in the car and also getting used to working with everyone in the team, to prepare for next year. I’m not going there to break records, I just want to gain experience. I spent a day driving on the simulator, which helps a bit, but nothing beats being on the track, » he explained to F1Zone.
He shares his thoughts on the Suzuka circuit: « My first impression is that it is not an easy track and, for example, it seems challenging to get the right combination in the first esses. I have an hour and a half to drive there and I am eager to do a good job for myself and for the team ».
During the month of September, Max Verstappen participated in private testing at Adria.
