Sunday: Good team performance for Red Bull with Vettel’s podium

Sebastian Vettel managed to secure a new podium this year by finishing in 3rd place at the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka, just ahead of Daniel Ricciardo. However, both men are primarily concerned with the health condition of Jules Bianchi.

Sebastian Vettel (No. 1) – 3rd

The four-time world champion did not wish to comment on the sporting aspect today, focusing on the accident and Jules Bianchi’s condition: « Everything that happened on track is secondary today, one of us is in a tough spot and we don’t yet know how he is doing. Jules had a serious accident and we all hope to receive very good news very soon. Not knowing what’s happening is terrible, I think all the drivers are thinking of him, because we know how difficult and slippery it was today: we hope for the best for him. »

Daniel Ricciardo (no. 3) – 4th

Same concern for Ricciardo who hopes for good news regarding Bianchi: « At the moment, we are all thinking about Bianchi and that is our biggest concern. We’ve heard he had a major accident, and it’s unsettling when we don’t know if the driver is okay. The race was complicated, it wasn’t too bad, and the setup we had for yesterday paid off. We tried different things with the strategy, but Bianchi is my main concern right now. »
