Sunday: Button, McLaren F1’s trump card at Suzuka

Jenson Button had a very good start at the Japanese Grand Prix held at Suzuka to climb up the ranks and finish in a commendable 5th place. However, the Briton prefers to focus on the health of Jules Bianchi following his accident. Kevin Magnussen, on the other hand, faced more difficulties due to electronic issues.

Jenson Button (no. 20) – 5th

Despite a good performance in Suzuka, the Briton does not want to focus on the sporting aspect and prefers to offer his support to Jules Bianchi following his accident: « For me, the race doesn’t matter today. I haven’t seen anything of Jules’ accident, but the most important thing is to say that all our thoughts are with him, his family, and his team at the moment. It’s an accident you hope never happens in Formula 1. »

The Dane also had thoughts for Bianchi and hoped for more from his race, which was disrupted by a problem with his steering wheel that was changed during a stop: « Let’s hope Jules is okay. It’s a really bad feeling when something like this happens, so let’s keep hope and pray for him. We did our best today, but we had an unfortunate problem with the steering wheel, which almost took me out of the race. I did my best to come back and score some points, but unfortunately, it wasn’t possible. »
