Sunday: Hülkenberg and Perez finish in the points for Force India
Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Perez managed to finish in the top 10 this Sunday at Suzuka, even though it probably could have been a bit better. But the two Force India drivers are satisfied with the points scored and hope to receive good news about Jules Bianchi.

Nico Hülkenberg (No. 27) – 8th
The German driver experienced a rather straightforward race, where he was able to find his way: « Up until the last laps, my race was going quite well: I had a good pace and good sensations with the car. We quickly made some progress, stopped late, and managed to pass several cars at the first stop. I can’t say that it was an eventful afternoon for me; I was mostly alone in my race. The conditions were very difficult from the start: visibility was really bad, even when you were in the lead. It was probably the same for everyone because it’s always a challenge in the rain. When the safety car came out for the last time, we decided to stop again because I had been on my tires for a while and needed fresh tires to finish the race. »
He is thrilled with the points scored but still has a thought for Jules Bianchi, even though he hadn’t seen the images at the time of his statements: “I am happy to score points after a difficult Saturday. Suzuka is a tough circuit to race on in the rain because there are many places where you can be a victim of aquaplaning. I haven’t seen the accident that ended the race, but I hope Jules is OK.”
Sergio Perez (No. 11) – 10th
The Mexican hoped for a bit more but is satisfied with the 10th place point and hopes that Jules Bianchi will recover following his accident: « The conditions were very difficult today. When we started the race, I couldn’t even see the car in front of me. Initially, it was mainly about avoiding aquaplaning and trying to keep the car on the track because the visibility was really bad. Our strategy worked well, but I think we were unlucky with our last pit stop, which caused me to lose a few positions. Like everyone else, my thoughts are with Jules and I hope to hear good news soon. »
