Sunday: Ericsson completes a “fantastic” race at Suzuka for Caterham F1
Marcus Ericsson confirmed, in the race and under the rain, his strong performance from the Japanese Grand Prix by finishing well ahead of Max Chilton and Kamui Kobayashi. The latter also praised his teammate's performance.

Marcus Ericsson (No. 9) – 17th
The Swede, as in all the weekend’s sessions, finished ahead of the four “smaller” despite a spin that sent him to the back of the grid at the very start of the race: « It was a crazy race! The track was unmanageable at the start behind the safety car, which is why they displayed the red flag. Unfortunately, I spun and lost all the advantage from yesterday. […] But after that, I think I had a fantastic race, our pace was very strong and I just had to redo the work I did yesterday and overtake all the guys in front. Aside from the result, we shouldn’t be happy because we want to aim higher and with the speed we had, we could have done it today. »
« I hope Jules wasn’t badly injured in his accident, all my thoughts are with him. »
Kamui Kobayashi (No.10) – 19th
Like the rest of the paddock, the Japanese driver does not fail to mention the case of Jules Bianchi: « First of all, I would like to say that I hope Jules is okay and that the accident was not too serious. »
Race-wise, he lacked rhythm but his supporters didn’t lack courage: « Today’s race was difficult for me; overall, I think I didn’t have enough pace. Unfortunately, my home Grand Prix didn’t really go as I would have liked, but today it was okay and it was extraordinary to see all the fans in the stands even though it kept raining: they are just incredible and they gave me a big boost and I want to thank each of them! […] Marcus also did a very good job. The team can be happy with our overall performance. »
