Susie Wolff will participate in the Race of Champions in Barbados

Susie Wolff will take part in the Race of Champions /f1/news/18553-grosjean-will-take-part-in-the-2014-race-of-champions.html, which will be held on December 13-14 at Barbados, in the Caribbean. The Williams F1 development driver will be the first woman to take part in this race.

This will also be her return to competition for the first time since the end of 2012, when she was racing in DTM alongside her role within the Grove team. During the Race of Champions, she will face off against Romain Grosjean, Tom Kristensen – nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ryan Hunter-Reay – winner of the Indianapolis 500 this year, Jamie Whincup – one of the star drivers of the Australian V8 Supercars championship, and Petter Solberg – World Rallycross Champion.

The Scot has shown eagerness to return to competition at the end of the year: « I look forward to racing again. I have a full-time job at Williams, which is nice, but nothing replaces the adrenaline of competition and I can’t wait to get that back. So I’m proud to have been chosen to take part in the Race of Champions and I’m excited to race against some of the best drivers in the world. »
