Ericsson in talks with three F1 teams for 2015
The manager of Marcus Ericsson states that his driver is in talks with three teams for the next season, while keeping Caterham in mind if the situation becomes clearer.

Marcus Ericsson’s manager indicated to Sportbladet that the Swede was in discussions with three teams for the 2015 season.
The future of the driver with the number nine is uncertain after his team, Caterham F1, was placed in administration due to financial problems. It will miss the next two races, in Austin and Interlagos, but the medium and even short-term future does not seem to offer much optimism.
Eje Elgh, who manages Ericsson’s career, insisted that these absences would not harm his client. According to him, thanks to significantly improving performances during the last Grand Prix, he is even in a good position: « His last three races have been really good, as were two of the qualifying sessions. The races have changed his status, » stated Elgh.
Ericsson is reportedly in contact with three teams for 2015, in addition to Caterham: « I cannot say when something will be concluded for next year. Being 99.9% sure doesn’t offer more security than being 80% sure. Concluding something takes time. The only thing it means is that there is great competition for the seats. We have a list of four teams, but Caterham is at the bottom of that list. »
Marcus Ericsson is supported by several Swedish sponsors ready to provide funds to teams increasingly lacking them. The market remains relatively open since, for now, there are spots available at Sauber – who hasn’t announced anything for 2015 – but also to a lesser extent at Force India and Lotus, even though Sergio Pérez and Romain Grosjean are respectively favorites for their own succession. Marussia has not communicated on the future either, but the serious accident of Jules Bianchi and its recent entry into administration cast a cloud of uncertainty over the British-Russian structure.
