The Romanian project Forza Rossa still alive
The project to create a Romanian F1 team has been mentioned since the beginning of the year, with not much information, but things seem quite real as revealed by documents published by the High Court in London as part of the insolvency proceedings of the Caterham F1 team.

While F1 is in financial turmoil following the problems faced by Caterham and Marussia who missed the United States Grand Prix, the FIA is said to have approved the arrival of a new team: Forza Rossa, according to the British press.
The information was revealed by journalist Christian Sylt in an article for The Independent. The information comes neither from the FIA nor the FOM but from a statement published by the High Court of London as part of the administration process involving the Caterham team.
« At the beginning of 2014, a Romanian team called FRR Formula 1 Team (Forza Rossa) revealed its intention to enter Formula 1. The project is led by Mr. Ion Bazac, a former Romanian Minister of Health. In June 2014, Forza Rossa received a letter of intent from the FIA, authorizing it to enter Formula 1 within the next two years. Forza Rossa hopes to race in the 2015 season, but preparation time is short, » explains Constantin Cojocar, former footballer of Steaua Bucharest and buyer of Caterham Sports in September, in a testimony.
Cojocar also added that his intention when purchasing Caterham Sports was to design and build single-seaters for Caterham and Forza Rossa: « I was involved with a consortium of Romanian investors who saw an opportunity in purchasing [Caterham Sports], clearing the debts, and selling services to the Forza Rossa team […] The intention was to sell or lease to 1MRT [1 Malaysia Racing Team, the parent company of Caterham F1] the assets needed by 1MRT, and to sell or lease the remaining assets to Forza Rossa. »
However, the famous Romanian investors could take advantage of Caterham’s judicial recovery to buy a number of the team’s assets at lower costs to be present in F1 in 2015, or in 2016 like the Haas team.
