Brazil GP: Grosjean retires and Maldonado out of the top 10 for Lotus
Pastor Maldonado was hoping to collect some points in Brazil but did not succeed due to a Lotus that was not performing well enough. Romain Grosjean, on the other hand, saw his Grand Prix end when his power unit encountered a problem.

Romain Grosjean saw his Brazilian Grand Prix come to an early end 8 laps from the finish due to a problem with his power unit, forcing him to park his Lotus on the side of the track.
The start of the race was good, and we were able to quickly move up the ranks. However, we had to switch from a two-stop to a three-stop strategy in the middle of the race, and that created difficulties, » explained the Frenchman after the Brazilian race.
Grosjean expressed disappointment at not seeing the checkered flag but remains focused on the year’s last race: « A lot of work has been done to improve the car’s performance this weekend, so it is difficult not to finish. We will study what happened and make sure we are ready to make the most of the double points at the next race. »
In the other Lotus, Pastor Maldonado was hoping to finish in the points but ultimately, he failed against Bottas and Kvyat: « My start wasn’t good, but we managed to be much more competitive towards the end of the race, and we were hoping for points. I did my best and hoped to overtake Valtteri Bottas, but it wasn’t possible in the end. »
