The Marussia team is currently in negotiations with a group regarding a potential buyout, with the aim of racing in Abu Dhabi and, above all, in 2015.

According to Sky Sports, the administrators of the Marussia F1 team are in serious discussions with a group regarding a possible takeover.

The British-Russian team has ceased all commercial activities and the administrators have explained that the 200 employees will be laid off. However, this Sunday, Graeme Lowdon, the former director of the structure, indicated that it was not impossible to see the red and black single-seaters back in the paddock as early as Abu Dhabi and in 2015.

Marussia’s participation in the last round of the season would require raising between 3.8 and 6.4 million euros before the end of the week.

For the medium term, however, negotiations are reportedly underway to try to save the team with a currently anonymous group, reports Sky Sports, without providing further details. At the announcement of Marussia’s administration, investors in the steel industry were mentioned.

As a reminder, the team is registered for the 2015 season under the name Manor F1 and is currently ranked 9th in the Constructors’ Championship with 2 points, won in Monaco by Jules Bianchi.
