Jenson Button is ready to make financial sacrifices to continue racing in F1 because money is not what interests him the most; he wants to race at the highest level of motorsport.

Jenson Button does not yet know what his future will hold in 2015, but he stated that money is not the driving force for continuing with McLaren in 2015.

Fernando Alonso is expected to be confirmed in the coming days with McLaren-Honda for 2015, but the identity of his teammate is not yet known and it should be between Button – who represents experience – and Magnussen – who represents youth and the long term.

The Dane is also a more financially attractive option for McLaren, but Button stated that money was not his primary priority for staying in F1: « Whether I race here or elsewhere, I will do it because I love it. Naturally, I still want to earn money because I believe I’ve been successful and I think I should be paid for what I do in a F1 single-seater or a race car, and for what I bring to a team. I will race somewhere even if I don’t earn as much money as some drivers here. »

« You should get what you deserve. I think I bring a lot to the team, not just in terms of results, but also in terms of marketing with the team and sponsors, and how I can help develop a car, » added the 2009 world champion.

Announced as a possibility for Endurance racing, Button hasn’t confirmed, but the World Endurance Championship seems a serious alternative if he doesn’t continue in F1. In any case, Mark Webber – a former adversary of the Briton in F1 – would like to see him make the switch from F1 to Endurance, as he shared on *Twitter*: « My friend, sign a contract in endurance and move on. It would be extraordinary to be with or against you next year. »
