The Abu Dhabi private testing program
The 2014 season is officially over, but 2015 is not far off since this Tuesday and Wednesday the last private tests of the season will take place at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Here is the schedule of festivities.

The 2014 Formula 1 regulations provided for four “in-season” test sessions. After Bahrain, Barcelona, and Silverstone, it’s Abu Dhabi’s turn to see, over two days, the cars of the season—which has just concluded with Lewis Hamilton’s crowning—running, mostly to prepare for 2015.
The attraction of these tests will be the presence of the Honda-powered McLaren MP4-29H/1X1, driven by Stoffel Vandoorne, the young test driver nurtured by Woking. The car made its initial runs at Silverstone two weeks ago and will need to provide as much feedback as possible on the track to optimally prepare for the return to competition of the Japanese engine manufacturer next season.
Furthermore, the lineup will be homogeneous, composed of 2014 regulars – notably, three of the top four finishers in the championship with Rosberg, Ricciardo, and Bottas, as well as Räikkönen – future regulars in 2015 – Felipe Nasr who will test for Williams but will join Sauber alongside Marcus Ericsson, who is also present, Max Verstappen – and young drivers vying for a seat like Carlos Sainz Jr, whose performance could be decisive in Red Bull’s decision to place him at Toro Rosso next season instead of Jean-Éric Vergne.
Also noteworthy is the presence of champions from lower categories: Carlos Sainz Jr, obviously, champion of Formula Renault 3.5, but also Jolyon Palmer, champion of GP2, and Esteban Ocon, champion of European Formula 3.
