McLaren still has no announcement to make regarding its drivers
The McLaren team was unable to reach an agreement at the board meeting held today regarding its drivers for the 2015 Formula 1 season. Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen will therefore have to wait a little longer to find out what their future holds.

A board meeting was held today in Woking at the McLaren team’s headquarters, and while many observers expected an announcement about the driver duo for the next season, nothing came of it in the end. Indeed, a spokesperson for the British team explained that no decision had been made yet.
« The board meeting of the day is now over, and no decision has been made regarding our driver duo for 2015, » explained the spokesperson, as quoted by Autosport.
Jenson Button, Kevin Magnussen, and Stoffel Vandoorne will therefore have to wait a little longer to know what their future holds, as Fernando Alonso’s arrival seems almost certain now, even though no official announcement has been made by the Spanish driver or by McLaren.
The postponement of the decision could be linked, according to the British press, to commercial issues – the team is seeking new partners to ensure they have the necessary funds to fight at the forefront again with Honda’s return by their side.
The two McLaren drivers were present at a promotional event organized by Johnnie Walker – McLaren’s sponsor – and Button hopes for a quick decision as he stated, quoted by the Press Association: “I am quite comfortable now, and whatever happens, I will have another great year next year. New challenges are exciting, whether it’s in Formula 1 with McLaren alongside an exciting teammate, or elsewhere. So it’s fine, but I just want it to happen. I want to hear the decision – like all of us – so that we can move in whatever direction.”
