Tested positive for cocaine, Franck Montagny admits his fault
Tested positive for a substance derived from cocaine on November 22nd last during the Putrajaya Formula E ePrix, Franck Montagny admits his fault and knows his career is in great danger.

Former Formula 1 driver for the Super Aguri team, Franck Montagny has been working as a consultant for Canal+ during the Grand Prix for two years. This season, he is also participating in the Formula E World Championship for the American team Andretti Autosport.
However, after the second race of the season, held in Putrajaya, Malaysia, the Frenchman underwent a doping test that revealed the use of a cocaine-derived product. The results of this test have not been contested, and there will be no counter-analysis. In the pages of *L’Equipe*, Montagny does not hide: « After the race, I saw the guy from the control signaling me. At that moment, in my head, I understood immediately. I knew it was over. I took the plane back. I shopped for two days, not to go out, to be alone, at home, within my four walls. Then I called my parents to explain. I was ashamed. »
Absent from the Uruguayan round in Punta del Este due to his provisional suspension, the driver is awaiting the decision regarding his sanction. He knows his career is in great danger and is already taking stock: « Motorsport may be over for me. Today, I can say that I went to F1, I drove in F1, I raced in GP, I touched the thing. I raced in endurance, I won races, I wasn’t a champion, it’s true, but I was fast. I sometimes raced with a broken leg, with broken ribs, without ever saying anything, without it affecting my performance, because once in the car, helmet on, I was fine. »
