Official: The South Korean GP is removed from the 2015 calendar
After being announced by surprise on the sidelines of last December's World Motor Sport Council, the South Korean Grand Prix scheduled for May has disappeared from the latest version of the F1 calendar.

As expected – contrary to its announcement – the 2015 South Korean Grand Prix will not take place. The FIA has indeed removed the race, which had been scheduled for May 3, a week before the Spanish GP, from the latest version of the calendar.
A spokesperson for the FIA indicated that Korea had been announced at the request of the commercial rights holders – led by Bernie Ecclestone – and removed when it became clear that the race would not take place.
The addition of this race to the calendar had been considered by some media as a way to bypass the limitation to four power units per car, which Renault, in particular, was fighting against. However, with recent regulatory developments on the issue of engine modifications during the season, this claim has lost intensity.
