McLaren-Honda unveils the launch date of its 2015 car
The McLaren team has revealed the launch date for its 2015 car as Eric Boullier reflected on the team's ongoing search for a title sponsor.

McLaren still doesn’t have a title sponsor after a year in 2014 without one, and that could continue. Indeed, since Vodafone’s departure in 2013, McLaren has been searching for a new title sponsor, but this does not worry the board.
For Eric Boullier, there is no urgency for a title sponsor to arrive as he told ESPN: « People want to know the dates, but we don’t need to say it. It may seem arrogant, but we can afford to run without a title sponsor. It’s a privilege; we want to move to another stage and we have many projects we would like to do, but to be honest, today we can afford to operate without one. »
« I’m not saying we don’t want a title sponsor anymore, we want one and we still have things to do. We need the right sponsor at the right time, » he concludes.
Furthermore, McLaren was the second team to reveal the presentation date of its 2015 car, the MP4-30 will be unveiled on January 29th in Woking. The 2015 McLaren was designed around the Honda V6 Turbo power unit. The car’s livery might be modified compared to 2014 and lose its silver color, a sign of Mercedes’ engine. A return to white, Honda’s color, is being considered along with orange, the original McLaren color. However, things could also depend on the arrival of a potential title sponsor.
According to *Omnicorse*, the MP4-30 might undergo a test session at Silverstone a few days before the official presentation, particularly to determine if the electronic issues encountered during the Abu Dhabi tests at the end of 2014 have been resolved or not.
