Marussia will not be able to race with the 2014 car
A few weeks before the start of the season, the F1 Strategy Group decided to deny Marussia the possibility of racing in 2015 with its 2014 car.

Marussia’s hopes of competing in the season /f1/news/19410-marussia-closes-in-on-melbourne.html have suffered a serious setback as the F1 Strategy Group—a tripartite body made up of representatives from the FIA, the commercial rights holders, and the teams—today refused to allow the team to race with the 2014 cars.
Gathered this Thursday in Paris, the group voted against this possibility, which required unanimity to pass this procedural stage. The possibility of Marussia’s presence this season was not welcomed by smaller teams, as they would have lost additional revenue corresponding to the share it would have received. Force India, despite being at the forefront of the small teams’ rebellion at the end of the 2014 season and having joined the Strategy Group thanks to its recent results, apparently voted against this proposal, according to the BBC.
This deals a significant blow to Marussia / Manor GP’s desire to participate in the upcoming season, even though the takeover of the structure is underway and the entry fees have been paid, due to the lack of a car meeting the technical standards for the season.
At the end of 2014, the Strategic Group had, on the contrary, authorized Caterham to race with the 2014 car, should a buyer be found, which has not been the case since. Caterham announced this Thursday the auction of its assets.
