Barcelona Testing I – Day 4 (morning): Sainz on top, crash for Alonso
For the final day of Barcelona I testing, at midday, we find Carlos Sainz Jr at the top in the Toro Rosso. However, the highlight of the morning was the accident of his compatriot, Fernando Alonso.

The morning of the last day of testing in Barcelona I was disrupted by two red flags, the first due to an excursion into the gravel trap by Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes. The second was caused late in the morning by Fernando Alonso, whose McLaren hit the tire wall between turns 3 and 4.
The accident of the Spaniard required an ambulance on the track, but the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit explained that the McLaren-Honda driver was OK and conscious, but he was still taken to the circuit’s medical center for examinations to ensure he is fine.
On the track, it was Carlos Sainz Jr (Toro Rosso) who was the fastest ahead of Sebastian Vettel (Scuderia Ferrari) and Nico Hülkenberg (Force India). At the bottom of the standings, Felipe Nasr was left without a time, as the Brazilian spent most of the morning stuck in his garage due to mechanical issues with his Sauber C34.
Regarding track attendance, the Mercedes driven by Nico Rosberg leads with 68 laps completed, followed by a duo of Sainz Jr and Vettel who each covered 59 laps.
