Vettel concludes his first winter in red
Driving a Ferrari SF15-T that has shown promising performance this winter, Sebastian Vettel had a good final day of testing at the Spanish circuit of Barcelona.
Author of the second fastest time behind Valtteri Bottas, the four-time world champion is satisfied with the work done by Scuderia. Although he does not expect to beat Mercedes in a straight fight, the German driver is convinced that his new team has made significant progress over the winter.
« The positive is that once again we have covered a lot of kilometers while gathering valuable information, » rejoices Vettel. « The fact that our race simulation went more or less as planned is encouraging from a reliability standpoint, even though it’s an aspect we still need to work on. »
« From a performance standpoint, it’s clear that Mercedes is still ahead, but right behind, we find ourselves in a small group with Williams and Red Bull. We’ll know more in a few weeks. »
After six years of loyal service at Red Bull Racing, Sebastian Vettel will attempt to guide Ferrari on the path to victory. The last success of the Reds dates back to the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix, which was won by Fernando Alonso.
