Arrivabene: “The SF15-T is behaving as expected”
Arriving at the end of November at the head of Scuderia Ferrari, Maurizio Arrivabene is satisfied with the progress made by his team at the end of the winter tests.
Nearly two years after the Reds’ last victory in the Formula 1 World Championship, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen will try to bring the Prancing Horse back to form.
« The SF15-T is performing as we expect, » explains Arrivabene. « Kimi, who drove last year’s car, has noticed an improvement and Sebastian is also happy. »
« Now, I can say that we have achieved all the goals. But we keep our feet on the ground because we know that other teams are not resting on their laurels. »
Despite significant progress from Ferrari, Arrivabene believes that Mercedes still holds a considerable lead over the competition. For the record, Nico Rosberg clocked the fastest time during testing at the Barcelona circuit while equipped with soft tires, whereas the closest competitors were on super-soft tires.
« It’s clear that Mercedes will be present once again », adds the new boss of the Scuderia. « For now, we have a small idea of where we stand compared to the competition, but we all followed different testing programs. We followed ours with focus and discipline, which is the key to success. »
