Chester: 2015 looks promising for Lotus F1
After a more than complicated year in 2014, where the team scored only 10 points, Lotus approaches this new season of the World Championship with much more confidence.

Nick Chester, the technical director of the British team, is pleased with the progress made by his men over the winter. The Briton expects his team to regain the rank it held in 2013.
« This year looks much better, » rejoices Chester. « The Power Unit has allowed us to make progress. The chassis also contributes to this, the drivers can get a bit more out of it, and it’s easy to push it to the limit since it is much more predictable. »
During these tests, we explored the suspension geometry, which greatly affects the car’s balance in the middle of slow corners. We also made the car less sensitive for our drivers, so it is easier to extract performance from it.
One of the most important innovations for Lotus in 2014 will be the introduction of the Mercedes engine. A guarantee of performance and reliability that will enable the British team to move forward.
« The Power Unit is really efficient and we also only used one engine during these tests. It is extremely reliable, » he adds. « Its installation is good and we have gained some benefits from it, for example in the organization of our cooling system. »
