Ron Dennis was “wrong” to say that Alonso did not suffer a concussion
In the columns of the Telegraph, the president of the McLaren group confides and admits he was wrong not to have told the truth about Fernando Alonso's health status. He has apologized.

In the case of Fernando Alonso’s crash and especially in the aftermath, the former director of the McLaren team received a lot of criticism from observers, particularly due to his communication. He had initially denied the concussion suffered by the Spanish driver before it was officially revealed.
He apologized: « This is not my best performance. I understand why the press was criticizing me. I wanted to be honest and open. I failed, however my goal is to continue trying to be as honest as possible in the future ».
The president of the McLaren Group explains the reasons for his attitude and, moreover, he believes that his driver will indeed be in Sepang for the Malaysian GP: « There is a lot of complexity regarding concussions. It’s difficult to know the extent of the damage, and that is not my area. It’s not my decision, but nonetheless, I have every reason to believe that Alonso will be there in Malaysia. I spoke with him recently, and he wants to be ready in Malaysia. I hope he will be there; it’s his decision, not mine. We have a mountain to climb. »
Currently in recovery, the driver is resting with family after his accident on February 22nd. He will be replaced by Kevin Magnussen in Melbourne.
