Alonso back in the McLaren simulator
Fernando Alonso was back at the McLaren headquarters this Tuesday and will settle into the team's simulator starting Wednesday.

Nearly a month after his accident during the private tests in Barcelona, Fernando Alonso was back this Tuesday in Woking, at the McLaren headquarters.
After missing the opening Grand Prix in Melbourne due to his concussion, the Spaniard is expected in Malaysia on March 27 to start his season with the British team. For this, he must first meet the requirements of a medical examination later in the week, which will determine whether he is fit to get back behind the wheel in Sepang.
In the meantime, here he is back in the McLaren simulator. His team has indeed devised a special program for him: “We have a program to help Fernando get back to racing and it includes being in the simulator,” a spokesperson stated.
On its official Twitter account, the team confirmed that simulator sessions would begin tomorrow and published a photo of Alonso, accompanied by the competition director Eric Boullier, at the McLaren Technology Center.

Despite a 38-page report on the accident, Woking has still not been able to identify any issue with the car that would explain the double World Champion’s off-track excursion and thus remains with its initial explanation, which was a loss of control of the MP4-30 on the Astroturf combined with a strong gust of wind. The investigation work continues with the help of the FIA.
Kevin Magnussen, who replaced Fernando Alonso in Australia – even though he couldn’t start the race due to an engine failure – remains on standby in case of a negative medical examination.
