Penalty points for Maldonado, Hülkenberg, and Perez
Following the Malaysian Grand Prix of Formula 1, the stewards imposed penalties and deducted points from the licenses of three drivers.

Several incidents marked the Malaysian Grand Prix Formula 1 and resulted in penalties. In addition to those handed out on the track, three drivers were given penalty points on their SuperLicence.
Pastor Maldonado, first of all, was guilty of driving too fast under the safety car. An infraction that cost him dearly during the race, with a 10-second penalty, but also outside of it as he was given three points on his license. Over the last 12 months, the Venezuelan has accumulated 8 points out of a maximum of 12. An automatic one-race suspension would occur if this number were reached. However, and fortunately for him, this total will drop to 5 points as of April 7, the date on which the 12 months since the 2014 Chinese GP will have passed; he had indeed received three penalty points during that race.
Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Pérez were both involved in collisions with Daniil Kvyat and Romain Grosjean. In addition to their 10-second race penalty, the Force India drivers received a two-point deduction on their licenses. For the German, this is his first infraction in the last twelve months, but for the Mexican, the total is now four points.
