The new contract of Lewis Hamilton finalized this week?
Lewis Hamilton is expected to sign his new contract this week. Furthermore, he reflected on Sebastian Vettel's victory in Malaysia.

Lewis Hamilton is expected to soon extend his contract with the Mercedes F1 team, according to the man himself. The reigning world champion is set to sign a contract this week worth 37 million euros per season.
« This should be done this week, there is no reason why it shouldn’t happen. Honestly, it’s 99.6% done. We are no longer negotiating; it’s simply the legal process, » said Hamilton as quoted by BBC Sport.
Lewis Hamilton will always have the same salary as when he joined Mercedes – 29 million euros. However, the English driver will earn more money through the races he could win, potentially increasing his salary to over 37 million euros.
In Malaysia, the Mercedes driver secured second place in Malaysia behind Sebastian Vettel, for him it’s a wake-up call for the team: “We are a racing team and we will be faster in the next race, we will be there and in better shape. The Ferraris are very close to us in the championship, so we will work very hard to learn what didn’t work and apply it so that it doesn’t happen again in the next race.”
While Fernando Alonso has left for McLaren Honda, the former McLaren driver had a thought for his former teammate: « I was sitting next to Sebastian and I thought, ‘What would Fernando think?’ I remember when I left McLaren to join Mercedes, we were better the season after I arrived. I had a good feeling then. He did the opposite of what I did. It could have been him [the winner in Malaysia], it’s just strange to see how things turn out. »
