Ricciardo: « Alonso is there to win »
Leaving Ferrari to join Woking, Fernando Alonso saw his former team win the Malaysian Grand Prix after a disastrous 2014 season. Daniel Ricciardo believes that Fernando Alonso left because he was at the end of a cycle.

Daniel Ricciardo believes, for *AS*, that if Fernando Alonso joined the McLaren team, it’s to win. Last season’s revelation reflects on the choice of the double world champion: « Now, I don’t know if it’s good, but I think he spent five years with Ferrari and did everything possible to win a title, that’s why he left and will try to win with McLaren. This season is like a new chapter in his career to try to achieve something new, something different, and he will try to have an opportunity to fight at the top of the table. »
The former teammate of Jean-Éric Vergne explains why, according to him, he left Ferrari: « I think he is the kind of person who goes to McLaren for one reason only, and that is to win ».
The Australian continues on Red Bull’s underperformances: « McLaren will most likely get closer to us over time, but I’m sure we’ll be fighting for the podium in the future »
For now, McLaren has scored no points while Red Bull has scored 11 points in the Constructors’ Championship.
