Philippe Bianchi: « I am very proud of my son »
In the columns of Nice Matin, Philippe Bianchi decided to speak out of respect for all the people who continue to support his son. He talks about Jules's fight that began six months ago in Suzuka.

Philippe Bianchi talks about the current state of Jules’ health: « I can assure you that Jules is fighting with strength, as he always has, both before and after the accident. Every day that passes, Jules completes a marathon, and his condition is medically stable. He has no physical problems, he is quite autonomous. All his organs are functioning without assistance. For the moment, he is in a coma and remains unconscious ».
While in Japan the worst was to be feared, Philippe Bianchi remains optimistic since his son’s return to France: « For this kind of accident, progress is very slow. However, compared to what the Japanese professor who immediately operated on him in Yokkaichi told us, it’s like night and day. When we arrived in Japan with his mother, there was no hope left. The prognosis was alarming. Irreversible damage was feared. We were told it would take at least a year to transfer him, which was done in just seven weeks, and he was quickly able to breathe again thanks to his own capacities. Now, the doctors have explained to us that neurologically there is no intervention required. The thing that can help Jules be stimulated is feeling a constant presence by his side. That’s why we take turns, whether it’s his mom, his big sister, his little brother, me, or Gina, his German girlfriend who lives here ».
With great pride and emotion, Philippe Bianchi pays tribute to his son’s struggle: Jules is young, he is 25 years old, physically he is very strong because he survived such an impact (93G). You know, I am very proud of Jules, I always have been, but now he is doing a hell of a job, he is progressing, so we hope for a new development. The next one would be for him to come out of the coma, sometimes at his bedside we see that things are happening. At times, he is more active, he moves more, his hand squeezes ours; are these simple reflexes or real reactions? It’s difficult to know, the most important thing is that he is monitored by excellent specialists, and close to his loved ones. Although he left the CHU Saint-Roch, he remains hospitalized in Nice.
For now, Philippe Bianchi wants to focus his energy on Jules Bianchi instead of discussing the legal aspect of his accident: « It was an internal investigation. It only involves those who initiated it, I have nothing new to say on this subject. Very competent people are taking care of defending Jules’s interests. If someone is found responsible one day, they will have to pay. Currently, I am too upset to talk about this, I prefer to focus my energy on Jules ».
