Rosberg fought with his brakes and the Ferraris until the end

Nico Rosberg can still pout. Beaten for the fourth time in four races by Lewis Hamilton, the German driver sees his teammate dangerously pulling away in the standings and was even overtaken by Kimi Räikkönen's Ferrari.

Fourth after being overtaken at the first corner by Kimi Räikkönen, who started from the dirty side of the track, Nico Rosberg then battled with the Ferraris to reclaim second place. The German had to push his tires and brakes to overtake Sebastian Vettel twice during the race, which affected his car, as brake issues allowed Kimi Räikkönen to snatch the second step of the podium from him.

« It was a tough race », acknowledged Nico Rosberg on the podium. « I managed to make some overtakes, which is always fun. I then tried to catch up with Lewis, but since he was on the same strategy as me, it was not possible to come back on him. »

Nico Rosberg then spoke about the brake problem that cost him second place, and which could have even allowed Kimi Räikkönen to catch up to Lewis Hamilton: « At the end of the race, I started to lose my brakes, and two laps before the checkered flag, I went straight on at the first corner. Unfortunately for us, Kimi took advantage of it. »

In the world championship standings, Nico Rosberg takes advantage of Sebastian Vettel’s mistake to move back into second place, but he is now 27 points behind Lewis Hamilton.
