Alonso expects significant improvements in Barcelona
By finishing the race in Bahrain, Fernando Alonso showed that the progress on his MP4-30 is real. Despite the fact that Jenson Button's engine once again acted up, the Spaniard intends to make significant progress in Barcelona in three weeks.

Little by little, McLaren is mastering the MP4-30. After the Bahrain Grand Prix, there are multiple reasons for satisfaction for Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard saw the checkered flag for the second time in a row, having reached Q2 and finishing just outside the points zone.
“It’s a positive point to finish the race and gain experience,” he stated on the official Formula 1 website, after notably retiring in Malaysia (ERS cooling issue). “We have three weeks to improve performance and work on reliability. We had concerns with Jenson who couldn’t start the race. Obviously, we still have a lot of work to do.”
Here are the issues of tension in Woking. Jenson Button was unable to start the race due to multiple reliability issues with the Honda V6 engine. As a result, Alonso states that reliability problems need to be solved, which will then allow them to fight for the top positions. Why not in front of his home crowd at the Spanish Grand Prix in three weeks? I predict that in Barcelona we will take an important step, and given the lesser importance of the power unit in Monaco, we should also have a good race. My prediction is that the next three races will be very interesting for us.
In Barcelona and Monaco, the McLaren-Honda could benefit from its advantageous aerodynamic package, despite an engine still in its infancy, to unlock its points tally.
