Grosjean: « Monaco is terrible, but I also love the big curves of Suzuka »
While in Paris last night to honor his partnership with Total, Romain Grosjean shared with MotorsInside some of his impressions before tackling the famous Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Monaco track is the most anachronistic and renowned of the season. As he will take part in the first free practice sessions in the Principality on Thursday, Romain Grosjean appeared aware of the importance of his upcoming weekend.
Isn’t Monaco the most amazing race on the calendar? « Yes, that’s what people often say », confirms the French driver. « It’s true that the atmosphere is incredible, and it’s like a home Grand Prix. It’s also the most prestigious race of the year, by far. Some even say that a victory in Monaco is worth a world championship. Of course, it’s an atypical circuit, the slowest of the season. But personally, I also really like the fast sweeping corners of Suzuka. »
Among the points to watch over the weekend, Romain Grosjean particularly highlights the super-soft tires, brought by Pirelli for the first time this season: « You never really know what the performance will be on this circuit, especially since it’s the first of the season with the super-softs. We hope they will suit us well. We hope to make a splash, we know that Monaco is an eventful Grand Prix. »
The paddock knows well, the third sector of the Barcelona Grand Prix is a preview of the Monaco race. It remains to be seen, of course, if the Lotus will show its advantage in the princely streets… « We’ll see. We weren’t at the top of the sheet [in this third sector], but we were able to improve thanks to the private tests », Romain Grosjean finally told us.
