Official: Nico Hülkenberg extends with Force India until 2017
The suspense surrounding Nico Hülkenberg's future ended today. The German driver has signed a new two-year contract with Force India. Vijay Mallya's team is pleased to have re-signed one of the best drivers in the world.

Sometimes at the center of rumors sending him to Williams (possibly to replace Valtteri Bottas) or even to Haas F1 Team, Nico Hülkenberg has preferred to bet on stability for the next season. The German has indeed accepted a contract extension from Force India. He is now tied with his team until 2017, which might also rule him out of the future succession of Kimi Räikkönen at Ferrari.
No doubt encouraged in his decision by the strong performance of the new version of his Force India, Nico Hülkenberg approaches the future with serenity: « I am delighted to have announced my plans for the future. I know this team from the inside and I feel at home here, so securing a long-term arrangement suits me perfectly. The progress shown by the team over the past two years has truly impressed me and gives me great confidence for the future. It’s an absolutely wonderful group of people who do everything to achieve success and improve year after year. »
Vijay Mallya, the Team Principal, is delighted with this operation: « It’s no secret: I am one of Nico’s biggest fans. So it’s fantastic to confirm him as one of our drivers for the next two years. He has already spent four years with us and during that time, we have seen him become one of the best drivers in the world. Nico has the speed, technical knowledge, and maturity to help us achieve great results in the coming years. We will do everything possible to continue offering him a car worthy of his talent. »
In the coming weeks, Force India is also expected to announce the renewal of Sergio Perez for the next season.
