Official: Felipe Massa disqualified from the Brazilian Grand Prix
Due to irregular tire pressure, Felipe Massa was disqualified from the Interlagos race.

The information came during the race and loomed like a threat for Williams: Felipe Massa was under investigation due to a tire pressure 0.1 psi too high on the grid. The bad news was confirmed by FIA analyses. Furthermore, the Brazilian’s tires were 27°C too hot.
The FIA’s sanction did not delay: Felipe Massa was disqualified from his national Grand Prix, where he hadn’t particularly shone anyway, crossing the checkered flag in eighth position.
As a result, Romain Grosjean moves to eighth place in the Grand Prix and Max Verstappen to ninth. Pastor Maldonado, meanwhile, scores the point for tenth place.
Williams, however, has appealed the stewards’ decision because the team disputes the measurement made by the Federation, as Rob Smedley explained to Motorsport: « For us, it is essential to understand where the problem comes from. We have three independent measurements and none of them shows something close to what the FIA’s measurements present. »
