Official: Kimi Räikkönen penalized five places on the Monaco grid
Kimi Räikkönen had to change gearbox between Free Practice 3 and the qualifying session. As required by the regulations, this resulted in a five-place grid penalty.

The Monegasque weekend does not bode well for Kimi Räikkönen. Not only did the Finn appear to be trailing his teammate during all the free practice sessions, but he will also have to start further back on the grid than expected.
The Scuderia discovered that their driver’s gearbox needed to be changed between FP3 and qualifying. The penalty is known: a five-place grid penalty.
Such a sanction could benefit Toro Rosso or Force India.
