Ericsson penalized for collision with Nasr
The stewards held the Swedish driver responsible for his collision with Sauber teammate Felipe Nasr. Marcus Ericsson has been penalized both in terms of penalty places and points on his driving licence.

The daring but failed overtake by Marcus Ericsson will not be without consequences.
In Monaco, his collision on the 47th lap of the race with Felipe Nasr will earn him a three-place grid penalty for the next Grand Prix in Canada.
The tension is high between the two Sauber drivers. Despite the pit wall’s orders for Felipe Nasr to let the Swede, who was closely following, pass, he didn’t comply. The Brazilian refused the directive. Likely frustrated, Ericsson attempted an overtake at the Rascasse. Too eager, he couldn’t avoid colliding with Nasr, who hadn’t left him an inch of space.

Both damaged, the Swiss cars were forced to retire.
In his misfortune, Ericsson was thus found guilty by the race stewards.
Furthermore, the former Caterham driver receives a two-point penalty on his license. Now, only six points remain on the Swede’s record. Let’s recall that any driver who loses their allotment of points is automatically suspended for the following race.
A beautiful Sunday, then, for Marcus Ericsson. The debrief with his teammate must have been quite lively…
