F1 on Canal + until 2020
Canal+ will continue to broadcast Formula 1 next season. The encrypted channel won the tender for broadcasting rights for the next three seasons (2018-2020), fending off competition from SFR Sport.

Between Canal+ and the queen discipline, the story continues!
After reclaiming the broadcasting rights from TF1 in February 2013, the audiovisual group owned by Vivendi will retain full broadcasting rights for the World Championship until 2020. This information was confirmed in the afternoon by journalists from L’Équipe.
The amount of the transaction has not yet been disclosed. By way of comparison, Vincent Bolloré’s group acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights for Formula 1 in France for a value of 29 million euros.
The fourth channel has thus managed to get ahead of its rival SFR Sport. The telecommunications operator was interested in taking over the broadcast, a year after making a sensational entry into the sports TV rights market. For this, Canal+ reached an agreement with Liberty Media, the owner of the commercial rights to the championship.
The fourth channel thus remains faithful to its sports (mechanical) enthusiasts. As a reminder, Canal+ was awarded the best international broadcaster of Formula 1 at the end of 2014.
